HelpCP Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how HelpCP handles personal information when you visit helpcp.org, contact us, apply for family support, share a campaign, or support a verified family through a HelpCP direct-support fundraising page.
Who we are
HelpCP is a verified family-support fundraising initiative operated under the patronage of Cerebral Palsy Community Foundation. HelpCP helps families of children with cerebral palsy or related severe disabilities present verified needs and receive direct donor support through focused campaign pages.
For purposes of this Privacy Policy, «we,» «us,» and «our» refer to HelpCP, authorized HelpCP administrators, and the family-support campaign administrators involved in operating this website and related donation pages.
Information we collect
We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you contact us, apply for support, make a payment, share a campaign, or otherwise use the website. This may include your full name, email address, phone number, mailing address, message content, family-support application details, donation amount, donation date, donation frequency, selected payment method, and other information you choose to provide.
If you enter a valid full name and email address in a HelpCP payment form and then leave those fields, we may retain those details even if you do not complete the payment. This helps us identify an unfinished support attempt and, where appropriate, send a limited reminder about completing it.
When you make a payment, we may receive transaction and subscription identifiers, payment status, payment method type, currency, fraud-prevention results, and other payment-event details from the selected payment processor. We use secure server-to-server notifications, often called webhooks, to confirm and record payment and subscription events.
Complete card and bank account credentials are collected and processed by the selected payment processor, not by HelpCP. We do not receive or store your full card number, card security code, or full bank account number.
How payments are processed
Payments made through HelpCP campaign pages may be processed by Stripe, Inc. or its affiliates, and by PayPal, Inc. or its applicable affiliates. Depending on availability, eligibility, device, location, currency, and the processor you select, payment methods may include cards, bank payments, digital wallets, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and similar supported methods.
Stripe and PayPal may collect and process information necessary to complete transactions, administer recurring payments, prevent fraud, verify payment details, comply with legal obligations, and provide payment-related services. Their handling of personal information is governed by their own privacy notices:
Stripe Privacy Policy
PayPal Privacy Statement
If you choose monthly support, the selected processor will process recurring payments until the subscription is canceled. We receive and maintain the information needed to identify and administer the subscription, but we do not receive your complete payment credentials.
How we use personal information
We use personal information to operate HelpCP, review family-support requests, publish and administer verified campaign pages, process and confirm payments, administer one-time and monthly support, respond to questions, send payment-related messages, prevent fraud or misuse, handle refunds, disputes, and payment failures, comply with legal, financial, accounting, nonprofit, and payment-processing obligations, and operate, secure, and improve the website.
For donor-facing campaign pages, we may use the full name and email address entered in the payment form to identify the payer, send payment-related messages, and provide campaign-related acknowledgments or certificates when applicable to that campaign.
We may also use the full name and email address entered during an unfinished payment attempt to send a limited reminder. When a successful payment is matched by either the same email address or the same full name, the corresponding unfinished-payment record is removed.
Non vendiamo informazioni personali.
Family-support applications and campaign information
Families who contact HelpCP for support may provide sensitive information about a child’s diagnosis, disability-related needs, family situation, and financial hardship. We use this information to review whether a HelpCP campaign may be appropriate, communicate with the family, prepare campaign materials, and help donors understand verified needs responsibly.
We do not publish private medical documents, financial records, addresses, phone numbers, or other sensitive details unless the family or authorized representative has approved the specific information for publication.
Purpose of support
Financial support received through HelpCP campaign pages is intended to support the specific verified family or child identified on the campaign page. Funds may be applied to care, therapy, rehabilitation, caregiving, mobility and assistive equipment, transportation, housing adaptations, education, medical and daily living needs, and other expenses that directly support the child’s health, safety, independence, and quality of life, subject to the terms and oversight described on the applicable campaign page.
Sharing of information
We may share personal information only when reasonably necessary to operate and secure the website, review and administer family-support campaigns, process payments, administer recurring payments, deliver email messages and acknowledgments, maintain records, comply with law, protect against fraud or misuse, or work with trusted service providers such as payment processors, hosting providers, email providers, accounting professionals, legal professionals, nonprofit administrators, and campaign administrators.
We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, government request, payment-network rules, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of HelpCP, supported families, donors, website visitors, or others.
Cookie e tecnologie simili
This website may use cookies or similar technologies to help the website function, remember basic preferences, improve performance, understand general website traffic, and support payment processing, fraud prevention, or security features.
Third-party services, including Stripe and PayPal, may use cookies or similar technologies in connection with their payment, fraud-prevention, security, and compliance services. Their use of these technologies is governed by their own privacy notices.
Data security
We take reasonable administrative and technical steps to protect personal information from unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration, or disclosure. However, no website, internet transmission, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Complete payment credentials are handled by the selected payment processor. We do not intentionally store full payment card or bank account numbers on our website.
Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Transaction, subscription, processor-reference, payment-event, campaign-administration, family-support, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute-handling, and recordkeeping information may be retained as needed for legitimate operational, legal, financial, nonprofit, and payment-processing purposes.
Information associated only with an unfinished payment attempt is retained for reminder and support purposes and may be deleted sooner upon a matching successful payment or a valid deletion request.
Your choices and rights
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have provided to us. Some information may need to be retained when required for payment processing, accounting, campaign administration, fraud prevention, dispute handling, legal compliance, nonprofit records, or recordkeeping.
You may choose not to provide certain personal information, but this may prevent us from processing a payment, responding to you, reviewing a family-support request, administering a campaign, or sending payment confirmation or campaign-related acknowledgment.
You may cancel monthly support through the options made available by the applicable payment processor or contact us at help@helpcp.org for assistance.
Children’s privacy
HelpCP campaign pages may describe children and their disability-related needs, but this website is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended to collect personal information directly from them. Information about a child should be provided only by a parent, guardian, authorized family representative, or other authorized adult.
